The children of Walter and Tiena Balzer established this scholarship in 2016 in memory of their parents. Walter and Tiena were long term members of Dinuba Mennonite Brethren Church and as a family they benefited greatly from their spiritual upbringing within the Church. It was their wish that students who were willing to give of their lives in service to the church should be helped financially. It's our hope that our parent's contribution will play an important role in the life of a student or students who wish to become pastors and advance the spread of the gospel.
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a MA or MDiv Program;
- Emphasis in pastoral leadership;
- Demonstrates actual experience in a local church;
- GPA of 3.5 or higher;
- Demonstrates a financial need;
- Enrolled in at least 9 units;
- Contributes to seminary life.
