This scholarship was established to honor Norma P. Dick, founder of the library media credential / master's program at FPU. Mrs. Dick was a teacher in the Clovis Unified School District before being appointed director of support services at the district level. Following retirement from that position, she instituted this unique program which offers teachers the flexibility of attending class while teaching full-time. The coursework provides candidates with the skills necessary to effectively maintain and operate a school library media center. The Norma P. Dick Scholarship was created in recognition of Norma's longstanding and tremendous contribution to the school library community.
