Ruth Wiens Funk Endowed Seminary Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1992 by Mr. Peter Funk to honor his wife Ruth Wiens Funk. The first Mennonite Brethren missionary to Japan (1950-1990), Ruth taught at the Osaka Biblical Seminary and coordinated the production of curriculum materials for the Japanese MB Conference. She was an alumnae of MB Biblical Seminary. A record of her correspondence, articles, reports, clippings, photographs and materials from her years in Japan is archived in the Center for MB Studies in Fresno, California. The award is annual earnings on the endowment, approximately $400/year.
